Here’s a fun little image that we created to illustrate the benefits of SEO in the simplest terms possible. We tossed around a few different ideas on the type of imagery we should use. Do you remember those old “your brain on drugs” commercials? We did too. We based this little image on the concept of those commercials. We hope you like it and it makes our point. If not, we hope it is at least a little funny.
You can click over to the full size image and use it on your website or share it with your friends if you want.
We are happy to announce that we have just rolled out the first stage of a new website for Woodbridge FoamPartner. Woodbridge FoamPartner (WFP) based in Chattanooga, TN is a joint venture between FoamPartner Group based in Europe and the Woodbridge Group based in North America. They have both offices and manufacturing facilities in Chattanooga. Staffed by exceptional and capable professionals, engineers, scientists, WFP is a company worth watching.
The design goals for this site were modest with the idea of delivering a usable site very quickly. A customer can visit this site and learn very quickly the story of WFP, what they do and how WFP can help them.
We have a little more work to do and the content of the site should grow substantially over the next 6 months.
In the recent past, we have written on the subject of selecting the best SEO expert and the best Web designer for your projects or websites. Revisiting the subject is warranted after reading a blog post over at Blazing Minds regarding SEO Packages for Small Business. It’s an important subject, and understanding it or the lack of understanding it can effect your long term business goals.
In our article Selecting a Web Design Firm and SEO Expert we highlighted these points:
WRCB Channel 3 In Chattanooga, TN featured the expert analysis of our lead web/search strategist, Donnie Lee, in a story regarding the proposed new Web site for the City of Chattanooga. A recent web design project that we completed for Team Hillenburg, an independent consultant for Thirty-One Gifts, is beginning to make the rounds to the CSS award sites. Team Hillenburg’s new website has made an appearance as a featured site on CSS Based and CSS Basket. We expect a few more awards to be bestowed on this fine web site that was built using the latest version of WordPress, with some custom design and backend options to suite the needs of Team Hillenburg. The project time line for this project stretched over two months with the bulk of the design work being done in the first 30 days and the majority of the content being added in the last 30 days.
We’re not often updating this blog with client projects, so we decided to give you a quick look at a couple of projects that we are having a lot of fun with. Not only are these projects enjoyable but challenging in their own unique way.
Dog Star Comics
First up, we have Dog Star Comics a digital comic book publisher coming online soon at the frontier of digital comics. Dog Star Comics is both an SEO and Web design project. This site is unique in that the site online now is in a pre-launch state to bring awareness and seed SEO efforts. Once, Dog Star Comics is ready to roll out for business, a new site that is more refined with a membership/subscription option will also roll out.
Focus Floors is a well established retailer of carpet tiles for residential and commercial use, based in Chattanooga, TN. This project is an ecommerce project that features a robust shopping cart system, blog, and SEO. We have been fortunate enough to work with Focus Floors on SEO before developing customer centric ecommerce solution. This site is still in the design/development stage. In the mean time, their old and archaic site continues to serve their broad customer base. We expect a full roll out on this site in December 2010.
Dog Star Comics beta/pre-launch site to seed awareness and SEO.
Focus Floors early design build that hasn’t been released for public consumption.
We have completed the Web design and development phase for the new MCA | Mike Collins & Associates. (See our previous post on MCA.) To refresh your memory a bit: MCA is an IT Solutions providers located in Chattanooga, Tennessee with additional offices in Nashville and Knoxville. MCA approached Abraxas to design and develop a new and modern site to replace their old flash based website.
The Rug Source in Dalton, GA wanted to launch a new site focused solely on their hospitality carpet business. We answered in kind by designing a simple Web site that relayed their message, made carpet products easy to access and searchable while giving them the power to maintain the Web site themselves via a CMS.
The Web site is expected to fully launch the last week of January.
Will your prospective Web design company or developer do enough to help you reach your target audience. Does your prospective Web design company or developer provide search engine optimization (SEO)? Do they really understand SEO with tangible results to show you?
Search engine optimization (SEO) is the strategy of attaining higher search engine ranking position (commonly called SERPs). It’s obvious that most Internet users use the search engines to search for a solution to a problem, whether that problem is finding the best digital camera or finding a local florist. Knowing this, shouldn’t your website be positioned in the search engines so that you can take advantage of Internet users searching for the products and services that you offer whether those services are intended for a local, national, or global market.
Abraxas Web Design & SEO is releasing some results form an eight month SEO R&D project on the domain hdmusicvideosonline.com. It is not often that a SEO company will share with general readers specific results of a project. In this case, because this site was not developed for a client but instead as an R&D project and that the site will soon go up for sell, we thought it fitting to give our readers and our clients a chance to look at some real results.
The art and science of SEO is ever evolving, we have ongoing R&D projects so that we can measure and test our techniques. This particular project is drawing to a close after eight months with some really promising results in a competitive, yet new keyword space. We went head to head with well established and corporate sites with tons of money to through around. We spent zero dollars other than our time to achieve results that are very respectable.
